The starter is located on the lower portion of the engine bay where it takes the abuse of the road such as rain, snow, and mud. Your starter bolts go through the same along with the noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) while trying to hold your 25lb. starter in place. These XDP starter bolts feature a tough black phosphate coating that wll resist the rigors of the road.
